So, I really need to start posting regularly...I think I need a reminder. Set up an email to remind me or something...
This is how close we were to the water. I'm standing just beside the front porch.

We've both been sick for the past month (first him, then me). So, I haven't really done a menu because he wasn't eating from the sickness, then I just didn't feel like it. I've decided I will try my hardest to not forget to make a menu. Seriously, it was hard! I didn't realize how much easier it made it around supper time when we knew exactly what we were going to eat. Plus, it ensures that we have enough food so we don't have to go back to the store over and over again. So, I am trying to plan a menu at the moment, and can't find my list of food!! I have no clue where it went and I can't remember what all was on it. I hope I didn't throw it way...

My mom got married! I was her bridesmaid, decorator, and did all of her flowers. It was a small wedding, probably only 30 guests at the most. I didn't get many pictures with my camera, but as soon as I get to get some of the ones they have, I'll add more.

A couple of weeks ago I started a weight loss challenge to loose 20 pounds in 20 weeks. So far I have lost 9 pounds! That's really exciting to me. Even though I had cake. Yummy birthday cake for my niece who just turned 2!
Speaking of birthdays, Rodney's birthday is coming up soon. April 25th to be exact. I think we are planning on grilling out and inviting family and a few friends over. AND I'm going to be baking him a cake. I love baking cakes.

Ugh. For some reason I just don't post. I guess I just feel my life is too boring. Or maybe I think no one reads it. Hmm. Anyway. I have made myself a promise to start blogging more. So, I'll tell you a story about Rodney and how he suprises me sometimes. The other day I was texting Rodney while he was at work. Here's a little bit of what was said.
I said something silly. Not really sure what it was because I say goofy stuff all the time.
Rodney: you are something else
me: what?
Rodney: idk but it's something good.
My heart melted. I'm not sure why this hit me the way it did, but I thought it was so romantic. I made me think of something I would here in a movie. (sigh) I love that man.

Last week the menu went pretty much as planned. Thursday we ate with Rodney's mom, so we didn't have fajitas, but everything else went smooth. Friday was so much fun because our friends Brandon and Monica came over to hang out. My camera is acting a little crazy, so I wasn't able to take pictures, but we had a blast.
So, for this week's menu.
Monday: Lasagna, salad, french bread
Tuesday: Bacon Cheese Chicken Sandwich (aka Marlboro Man's Second Favorite Sandwich)
Wednesday: Hamburger Helper
Thursday: Buffalo Chicken Tenders and Spicy Oven Fried Ranch Potato Wedges (we love these!)
Friday: Tacos (also love these)
Saturday: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes
Sunday: Manwich

So, we had a wonderful little ice storm that knocked our power out for almost 3 weeks! It was so awful having to stay at other people's houses instead of our own. We are so glad to be home!
Here are some photos of the damage.
We have never been so glad to see an electric truck in our life! So, I will be posting regularly now that we have our power back.

So, I've decided to plan our menu and shop by a list so we don't spend as much. So, here's this week's menu (starting with Monday, January 19th):
Monday: Lasagna, french bread
Tuesday: Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza, salad
Wednesday: Hamburger Helper, salad
Thursday: Buffalo Chicken Tenders, Spicy ranch over fried potato wedges, rolls (and maybe mac and cheese)
Friday: Chicken Quesadillas, Tamales
Saturday: Spaghetti, salad, french bread
Sunday: General Tso's Chicken, fried rice (Although, I may use this chicken recipe instead.)
I'm really excited about having menus planned for each week (I know, I'm weird ha ha. I don't have a very exciting life OK?).

This year I have decided I need to change. I am the messiest, most unorganized person in the world. No, I'm serious, the whole.entire.world. I hate cleaning, and can never find anything because of it. I live out of the (clean) laundry basket because I don't like hanging up clothes. So, my goal this year is to become a more clean, organized person. I have been slowly improving over the past couple of weeks (well, maybe the past couple of days). I've been cleaning, putting stuff away, and even hanging up my clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer (*gasp*). I am also starting to plan a weekly menu instead of shopping and then arguing with Rodney about who is going to choose what we have for supper when one of us decides its supper time. Usually it's "what do you want?" "I don't care. What do you want?" "I don't care. You decide." and so on....and so far this week, I've heard "What do you have planned for supper tonight?" Yay! SO I will also start posting my menu for the week on Sunday nights. I'll also be posting links to the recipes and to my other blog once I post the recipes there.
In other news, we are visiting our friends, Brandon and Monica, this Saturday and I get to bake cookies! Yay! I love baking cookies. Especially since my mom brought me about 6 bags of random types of chocolate (and other flavored) chips. I'll post pictures Sunday.
P.S. I am not good at coming up with titles. (Like you didn't notice.)

I really need to post more often. I promise in 2009 I will post more. So for an update, I am not really doing much. I took the semester off and I am going to LPN school in the fall. That's really about it...Oh! and we have a new nephew! YAY!! His name is Matthew Wayne. He was 7lbs 12.2 oz and 19 inches long. So far he's a good baby. We were worried that his big sister, Kylee, (who isn't even 2 years old) would be jealous, but she's doing great and wants to hold him all the time.

So, yesterday was our first anniversary. One whole year of being married. It seems like we have been married for way longer and way shorter at the same time (I know, I make no sense). Rodney got the day off, so we spent it at home just hanging out and exchanged gifts. Since one year is paper, he got me this:
And I got him this:
I know, it's not paper, but he really wanted it...so since he got me paper, and I didn't get him a paper gift, I made him this:
It's a little book of 52 reasons why I love him. He loved it. So, that's how our anniversary went.
